1. Project Background and Inspiration

The Industrial Supply Chain Sim application is a digital adaptation of the classic educational game known as the “Beer Distribution Game”, developed in the 1960s by Jay Forrester at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

The game is a simulation of supply chain processes.

The sole purpose of the application is education in inventory management and the demonstration of the phenomenon known as the Bullwhip Effect.

The game mechanics and cost parameters are based on widely available academic models and constitute a global standard in logistics education, not infringing on unique intellectual property.

2. Educational Intent and Target Audience

Educational Use: This application is specifically designed for university students, lecturers, and supply chain professionals.

Classroom Integration: The tool is suitable for use in academic settings, workshops, and business training to facilitate group learning and systems thinking.

3. Data and In-Game Communication

No Direct Communication: The application intentionally does not include chat functions, text messaging, or voice communication. The only form of interaction between users is the transmission of numerical values representing “product orders.”

Anonymity: The game does not require account creation, email addresses, or phone numbers. Player identification within a game room is based on a temporary nickname chosen by the user.

4. Camera Usage (QR Codes)

The device’s camera is used exclusively for scanning QR codes generated by the Game Lead (Instructor) to join a session.

The camera feed is processed locally on the device to read the code and is not transmitted, stored, or shared with any external servers.

5. Technical Data Collection

To ensure stable multiplayer connectivity, the app may temporarily process:

Session ID (Room ID).

Player role status (e.g., Retailer, Factory).

The history of logistic decisions made during a specific session (to generate performance charts at the end of the game).

6. Data Retention

Personal Data:

We do not directly collect, store, or sell any personal data (such as names or email addresses) on our own servers. If you wish to request the deletion of any data processed by third-party services, you may do so through your Google Account settings or by contacting the service providers directly. As the developer, I do not have access to or control over this data.

Simulation Data:

The app is developed using Lovable and may use Supabase to process simulation-based inputs (e.g., order quantities, inventory levels). This data is used solely for the functionality of the simulation. Technical diagnostic data (crash logs, performance stats) may be automatically collected by Google Play Services to ensure app stability.

Third-Party Services:

The app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. Links to the privacy policy of third-party service providers used by the app:

Lovable

No Direct Communication:

The application does not include a chat system or any form of direct messaging between players. Interaction is strictly confined to simulation-based inputs.

Data Deletion:

Since we do not store user data on our own infrastructure, we cannot manually delete specific user records. Users can manage or delete data collected by Google Play Services through their Google Account settings.

7. Development and Analytical Tools

This application was developed using the Lovable platform. Consequently, the platform may automatically collect certain technical and diagnostic data (such as crash reports, app performance metrics, and interface interaction patterns). This data is used solely to ensure the application’s stability, fix bugs, and optimize the overall user experience. This information is not used to identify the individual identity of the players.

8. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16. If we discover that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our records.

9. Contact and Support
